Terms of Service

Use Universal MP3 only for links you have the right to download. Your license is for your own Macs, so please don't share the installer. Because it's a digital download, all sales are final.
These terms are an agreement between you and Society Sound LLC of Atlanta, Georgia (“Society Sound”, “we”, “us”). By buying, installing or using Universal MP3 (“the app”), you agree to them.
Your license
When you buy the app, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on Macs you own or control. You may not resell, rent, redistribute or share the app, its installer or its download link, and you may not remove its notices or pass it off as your own.
Only download what you have the right to
The app saves media from links you provide. It does not host, provide or supply any content itself. You may use it only for material you own, material you have permission to download, or material you are otherwise legally allowed to download.
- You are solely responsible for what you download and for how you use it.
- You must follow the terms of the sites you download from, and copyright law where you live.
- Do not use the app to infringe anyone’s rights.
Universal MP3 is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the sites it works with.
Sites change
The app depends on how other sites work, and they change without notice. A site that works today may stop working tomorrow. The app’s “Check for update” button fetches the latest download engine, which usually restores it, but we can’t promise that any particular site will keep working.
Updates
We may release updates to the app. We’re not obliged to, and an update may change or remove features.
All sales are final
Universal MP3 is a digital download. Once it’s delivered, a copy can’t be returned, so we don’t offer refunds, except where the law where you live requires one. If the app won’t install or run on a supported Mac (macOS 12 or later), email us and we’ll help you get it working.
Open-source components
The app includes open-source software that is licensed separately, under its own terms, including FFmpeg (GNU LGPL v2.1 or later), LAME (GNU LGPL), yt-dlp and Deno. The license texts are in the Licenses folder that comes with the installer. For at least three years after you receive the app, we will provide the complete corresponding source code of the included FFmpeg and LAME on request, at no charge. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Society Sound is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Ending your license
Your license ends automatically if you break these terms. If it ends, you must stop using the app and delete it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. The terms that apply are the ones in place when you use the app.
